Don'tcha just love how all kinds of politicians are, now that it's politically expedient, crawling out of the woodwork, eager to express their regret over their pro Iraq war vote. How very convenient -- now that the polls show the majority of Americans are against the war.

I don't buy these politicians' excuses that they were misled by the Bushies or that knowing what they know now, they would not have voted to give Bush authorization to go to war.

I'm no expert, and I knew at the time that the war was wrong. So did a whole host of my "ordinary" friends, and none of us would consider ourselves foreign affairs gurus or privy to any inside information. Rather, it was pretty obvious to any rational human being that Hussein was cooperating with the UN inspectors, who, because they had yet to find any weapons of mass destruction, were requesting more time to complete their search. Not an unreasonable request. What was the rush, after all?

Everyone with a brain in Washington was aware of the Neo-con agenda and were well aware of why Bush wanted to rush to war. They will never admit it. No one talks about it. But the funny thing about the truth is, you can't change it.

So, to all of you apologetic "misled" politicians out there who can't wait to confess your remorse for supporting this illegal war: Stuff it. We don't buy it. We won't buy it. And your real agenda--worrying about getting votes when you come up for re-election--is disgustingly and blatantly obvious.
