MURTHA SPEECH: CNN's "Political Play of the Week"

CNN just deemed Murtha's Speech (see below) as the "Political Play of the Week", comparing it to a similar speech given by a Viet Nam era Military Officer which signaled a turning point in that war. Let's all hope that others follow Murtha's leadership and lead with their conscience rather than their politics to help bring our troops home from this illegal war.

"Vietnam vet says the Iraq war is a flawed policy wrapped in illusion."

I sincerely hope everyone gets a chance to see and hear the courageous speech delivered this morning, ironically, by one of the House's most hawkish Democrats, John Murtha. I'd describe the speech and the delivery as strong, passionate, honest, intelligent, accurate, gutsy, from the heart, and LONG, LONG, overdue. Murtha exhibited more leadership--the kind of leadership we sorely, sorely need--in this one speech than the entire Bush administration has shown in 5 years in office. Read the entire speech here.

Hopefully someone will release video of the speech and the press conference following it. CNN talked over the televised speech before it ended and eliminated the press conference entirely. Figures. MsNBC didn't even bother to report it.
