Politicians: End the War in Iraq or You Won't Get My Vote

CLICK TO READ: The Nation: Democrats and the War

Once again, 'The Nation' deserves our applause. In their latest issue, 'The Nation' makes a strong stance and a much needed committment: "There can no longer be any doubt: The war - an unprovoked, unnecessary and unlawful invasion that has turned into a colonial-style occupation - is a moral and political catastrophe. The Nation therefore takes the following stand: We will not support any candidate for national office who does not make a speedy end to the war in Iraq a major issue of his or her campaign.

What this country needs are more institutions, publications and people to take this position. It's the only position that is morally defensible.

Biden, Clinton, et al take note. You will not get an increasing number of our votes with your wishy-washy middle of the road politics. This war is no longer a partisan issue. It is plainly wrong and prolonging it will never make it right and can only make it worse. You know it. I know it. And, hopefully, more and more Americans know it and will join 'The Nation' and withhold support from any candidate who does not commit to ending this war.
