Will Congress at last pay attention to such family-stressing issues as "workplace inflexibility, the lack of family supports and workplace bias" ... or "the costs and anxieties of child care" and health care?
It's easy to say, "Because I'm a mother, I understand your problems." But when the speaker happens to be wealthy -- as is Nancy Pelosi (and the majority of representatives) -- does she really understand the problems of middle and lower class American families?
Giving her the benefit of the doubt, here is her chance to bring together "family values" conservatives with liberal Dems to pass some meaningful bipartisan legislation.
