Dastard, Thy Name is Rove

"The State of Denial" is alive and well and embodied by "The Dough Boy" AKA "Miss Piggy" AKA Karl Rove.

According to the Chief Muckraker, Iraq didn't play "the critical, central role" in the elections...."

One thing is certain: It certainly didn't play a central role in his "stratergy" to win the election. Why else would Vice sneeringly announce his intention to stay the course in Iraq no matter what voters thought. Why else would Duhhhbya stupidly vow that Vice and Rummy would be on board until the end of his reign?

What happened to "Genius" Karl? It didn't take a Phi Beta Kappa to figure out that the Iraq war was the main thing on voters minds. Every pre-election poll confirmed it. And the exit polls re-confirmed it along with the fact that people were equally disgusted by the unprecedented corruption and hypocrisy embodied by those in power.

"The profile of corruption in the exit polls was bigger than I'd expected," Rove told TIME magazine in a recent interview. "Abramoff, lobbying, Foley and Haggard added to the general distaste that people have for all things Washington, and it just reached critical mass."

An idiot could have seen that coming. So how come Karl didn't? If he had, and if he were truly a genius, he would have realized that people were sick and tired of the the hypocrisy, the lies, the arrogance, the fear tactics, and the divide-and-conquer strategy of -- Karl Rove. And he would have changed, not stayed the course. Sound familiar?

Democrats and Republicans alike were all but overdosing on Prozac from a post-political-stress disorder brought on by the political polarization so coveted by Rove.

I don't know about you, but it had gotten to the point where I literally could not watch another right-wing talking head on CNN scream his perverted talking points at me. The anxiety of watching these morons spew lies and nonsense twenty-four seven was enough to turn any sane person into a raving lunatic yelling obscenities at his television set.

Karl Rove is no genius, ladies and gentleman. Far from it. He's a selfish little power crazed man with no ethics, no character, no class, no values, and no respect -- not a drop -- for America. That's why he lost the election -- despite all the gerrymandering, the lies, the dirty tricks, the media control --despite it all, he lost because America finally saw him and the Bush cabal for what they really are: lying sleaze-mongers whose assertions bear no relation to reality.

Karl operated on the premise that we, the American people, were all a bunch of dolts who would believe anything we were told, but, this time, he was wrong. Maybe his mother never taught him that lies eventually catch up with you or that which goes around comes around.

Seems he and the Bush Cabal still haven't learned the lesson. When they held all the power, they could dish it out plenty good. We're about to find out just how well they can take it.

Karl's Hypocrisy:

  • Democracy Now! | Karl's Rove Secret: Bush's "Architect" Launched Anti-Gay Marriage Campaign After Burying Gay Father
New revelations about Karl Rove include that he "launched the national Republican campaign against gay marriage within days of burying his [openly] gay father" and that "the man who is the architect behind evangelical voters and their turnout and a voter delivery system of the Christian right, is agnostic. He doesn’t have any deeply held faith." How's that for hypocrisy?
  • The Blog | James Moore: The Closets of Karl and Ken | The Huffington Post
Rove may have felt his father had a right to a private life but he clearly thinks differently about other homosexuals. This fall Rove and the GOP will once more push the idea of a federal amendment to the constitution to outlaw gay marriage, repeating their silly message that it is a threat to the institution of heterosexual marriage.

But what about RNC chairman Ken Mehlman? His sexual orientation has been the subject of speculation by gay rights advocates for several years and has been discussed on progressive radio talk shows. Mainstream reporters have never asked Mehlman if he is gay but Eric Resnick, a journalist for a gay publication in Cleveland, chased Mehlman down at a GOP fund-raising dinner in Akron. Resnick told Mehlman that he had been outed on blogs and talk radio and he wondered how he justified being gay and pushing an anti-gay agenda.

I have no idea how credible this is, and ordinarily, I would not post this kind of personal speculation. But since Mr. Rove has made a career out of dubious personal attacks on others, if there ever was a case where turnaround justified fair play, this is it.

I can't help but wonder if Rove was one of the prominent BushCo gays Bill Maher has vowed to Larry King that he would reveal on "Real Time" (but inexplicably failed to do; did he receive threats, perhaps?)--TUC
