"America’s refusal to give Baghdad’s security forces sufficient guns and equipment has cost a great number of lives, the Iraqi Prime Minister said yesterday.

Nouri al-Maliki said the insurgency had been bloodier and prolonged because Washington had refused to part with equipment. If it released the necessary arms, US forces could “drastically” cut their numbers in three to six months, he told The Times...."

Bush opposes selling somebody weapons? Are you kidding?

If you think daddy was mad (he wasn't) on the lebanon stuff, he really will be mad here.

I am very sure Carlyle has older, not real popular weapons inventory that is hard to get rid of. Let's see, the US gives it to Iraq and pays Carlyle, further assuring the president of a comfortable retirement!

Who needs funded retirement plans when you've got weapons to sell?
