Interactive Graphic: The Roster of the Dead
Since the beginning of the war in Iraq, nearly 2,000 American service members have died. The dead come from all branches of the armed services and represent the highest toll since the Vietnam War. What is important is more than the number: 2000. What is important is that they each have a name. They each have a face. And they each had a life that is no more. Take a look:
